This season’s Haute Couture week showcased the biggest trends that marked a before and after in fashion.

Paris Haute Couture Week took centre stage last week, with collections for the Spring/Summer 2023 season. Unforgettable moments were seen on the runway as labels showcased incredible collections. There were 29 haute couture shows over four full days, including Chanel, Dior, Giambattista Valli and Georges Hobeika.
With Paris Haute Couture Week in full swing, the eyes of the fashion world watched the runways for street style, no doubt finding inspiration from emerging couture trends.
Metallic glitter was in full force at the latest couture shows in Paris. Glamour was enhanced with shiny sequins, shimmering satins and the extravagance of necklines and animal motifs implemented on pieces, as seen in Schiaparelli and Chanel, which was inspired by ‘Coco’ Chanel’s infatuation with animal decorations.
In Pierpaolo Piccioli’s Valentino couture show, metallic effects reigned supreme, from a silver sequined men’s coat draped over an open shirt and black shorts to the silver embroidery of a bustier dress worn by Kristen McMenamy. On the other hand, Dior presented a line of discreet and feminine designs inspired by Josephine Baker, focusing on sequins, velvet and rhinestones.
As we could see, designers often include weird but wonderful fashion looks, and the spring/summer 2023 edition was no exception. Here are the five fashion trends that ruled the runways.
BEADING
During most haute couture collections, fashion houses, such as Valentino, Schiaparelli, Dior, and more unique pieces with exquisite bead embroidery details. It looks so stylish, elegant and classic on pieces! We cannot wait to try this trend!

EXTRAVAGANT NECKLINES
For the season, Schiaparelli, Jean Paul Gaultier, Valentino, and more, have opted for extravagant necklines to adorn the designs. The emphasis was on bold, and dramatic finishes that radiate timeless elegance in designs.

METALLIC FABRICS
Metallic fabrics definitely had their moment in 2022. At the Spring/Summer 2023 Haute Couture 2023, luxury fashion houses, such as Fendi, Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, Schiaparelli, and more featured models wearing shiny-metallic pieces. Metallic fabrics are perfect to add to your outfits in spring and summer for an extra flair in your ensembles. It will definitely be one of the must-have fabrics of the season.

ANIMALS
Haute Couture always aims to deliver refined artistry and the highest levels of craftsmanship on its runways. For this spring-summer 2023 couture week, labels Chanel, Rahul Mishra, Georges Hobeika, Schiaparelli, and more, debuted otherworldly designs with animal motifs on pieces, and we loved it!

STATEMENT JEWELLERY
Statement jewellery has gone in and out of style for decades. However, it’s once again around us. Creative designers, such as Fendi, Giorgio Armani, Schiaparelli, Jean Paul Gaultier, and more, have opted for chunky, sparkly and gold jewellery, whether earrings, necklines or headpieces to adorn the designs.
