Scarlett Johansson, Margot Robbie, & more stars who arrived in style to the premiere of Asteroid City.
When Wes Anderson announces a new project, the call sheet is almost always loaded with A-listers in droves. After all, Timothée Chalamet, Jeff Goldblum, and Tilda Swinton are all regulars in Wes Anderson’s cinematic world. That is certainly true of his most recent picture, “Asteroid City,” which stars Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johansson, Margot Robbie, and others.
Asteroid City, his new film, recounts a sequence of world-changing events that significantly interrupt the agenda of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet conference in a 1950s American desert town. It features an A-list ensemble that includes established performers such as Tom Hanks and Adrien Brody, as well as Tinseltown’s fave blonde bombshells Scarlett Johansson and Margot Robbie, as well as up-and-comers such as Maya Hawke. They all attended the premiere on Tuesday at Alice Tully Hall in New York City, and Anderson’s distinctive style of whimsy was on full show with their outfits.
The stars walked along the desert-themed step-and-repeat, giving sartorial respect to the director’s idiosyncrasies. Robbie wore a surrealist Schiaparelli gown with keyhole belly button detailing, Johansson wore a retro-coded Carolina Herrera gown with a playful rosette, and Hawke wore a custom black sequined Prada gown with a matching bedazzled swimming cap inspired by the mid-century time period.

Scarlett Johansson wore a white Carolina Herrera gown with a ruched bodice from the Resort 2024 collection, dazzling Gianvito Rossi shoes, and David Yurman pearl drop earrings, styled by Kate Young.
JEFF GOLDBLUM
Jeff Goldblum looked as elegant as ever in a slate blue Prada suit with a cream-coloured shirt with an exaggerated collar and fuzzy yellow trim, along with a salmon pink shirt underneath. He finished off his look with a monotone thin tie, yellow-framed spectacles, and shiny hefty shoes.
MARGOT ROBBIE
Andrew Mukamal dressed Margot Robbie in a strapless black velvet corset minidress from Schiaparelli’s Spring/Summer 2023 Couture line, with keyhole belly button details and a pleated white silk skirt.
MAYA HAWKE
Maya Hawke’s bespoke black sequined A-line Prada dress was inspired by the mid-century time period of Asteroid City, and was styled by Harry Lambert with a matching bedazzled swim hat and classic black shoes.
ADRIEN BRODY
Adrien Brody looked dapper in a cream-coloured tailored Brioni suit and an open white button-down dress shirt with polished leather Chelsea boots for the occasion.
DYLAN MULVANEY
Dylan Mulvaney stepped out in a black Stella McCartney ensemble, consisting of a button-up vest, an asymmetrical skirt and a jacket thrown over her shoulders, teamed with star-scattered black knee-high cowboy boots.
