Simon Porte Jacquemus’ romantic show brings a new chapter to the house.

Presented at the elegant “Salin” of Camargue in Jacquemus’ hometown in the south of France, the eponymous Jacquemus brand unveiled its latest Fall/Winter 2022 collection, “Le Papier”.
Just three months after presenting his Le Splash collection, the designer took to the blank canvas of the Arles landscape yesterday and, under a spectacular staging, his models paraded down a salt runway that looked like a work of art. It was: the white ground, the blue sky, the lilac water and the styling of his pieces were imposed on the landscape in green, oranges, blacks, blues and, above all, white.
Jacquemus brought on stage modern brides dressed in transparencies, tulle, tails, asymmetries, multiple straps and gowns full of personality.

“The last collections were very Pop,” designer Simon Porte Jacquemus wrote in a recent Instagram story, “I now go back to something more poetic.”
The artistic director, who unveiled his collaboration with the Nike brand last May, reinvented feminine and masculine sensuality at the same time. Bordering on nudity, sheer white dresses joined by straps reveal the chest, while brown suits are worn with a light veil billowing over the face or simply reveal a bare shoulder.
Cargo pants, overlays, boat necks, knitted ensembles, crop tops or, of course, oversize fur jackets. An ode to the love he has always loved: romantic, free and with character.
On the feet? Between heeled sandals combined with socks and his latest release, the eagerly awaited Jacquemus x Nike sneakers.

The designer said, “I started working on the collection with the obsession to restart from nothing, like a white page.” With 61 looks, these pages soon filled up and the collections presented were a huge success.

The collection featured pure white pieces that paid homage to Simon Porte Jacquemus’ childhood. Travelling back in time, the designer transported us to the main colours and fabrics of Provence, to a bygone era, to memories of his grandmother Liline and his shared nostalgic passion for things of the past.

The French designer has been surrounded by a good number of famous faces who did not want to miss Simon Porte’s autumn-winter 2023 collection. Victoria Beckham, Nathy Peluso, Vincent Cassel and Tina Kunakey, Georgina Rodriguez, Jeanne Damas and the Spanish Marc Forné were some of the celebrities who have been with the French designer.

Some top models, from Vittoria Ceretti to Jill Kortleve, wore interesting looks with unusual volumes and overlays.
The theme of the Le Papier exhibition on French paper was white. The chalk paint used by designers was not just a trend, it had a broader meaning, associated with the concept of a blank sheet of paper, symbolizing a new life that can be written and dyed.
