The Maison chose the South Korean capital as the venue for its most recent pre-fall-2023 show. Here are all the details about this outstanding collection.

French luxury firm Louis Vuitton chose one of the most iconic cities in Asia, Seoul, to present its new Pre-Fall 2023 collection.
Louis Vuitton’s first pre-fall show was held at the bottom of the iconic Jamsugyo Bridge, a double-decker bridge that spans the Han River in the South Korean capital. Nicolas Ghesquière, the label’s creative director, chose Squid Game director Hwang Dong-Hyuk to design the scenography. “For Seoulites, [the Jamsugyo Bridge] is a living monument,” said Ghesquière. “It is also a real fictional character that’s very present in many films. It’s an inspiring place to stage a show. It’s a genuine catwalk.”
Vuitton has taken advantage of the increase in the luxury market in Asia and the popularity of K-Pop to amaze us with an unprecedented runway show. This is perhaps one of the biggest shows for the house, since Pietro Beccari took over as CEO of the firm at the beginning of 2023.

For this occasion, it was closed for 24 hours for the show, where models walked on the 795m-long linear path The soundtrack “아니 벌써 Already Now” by Sanullim was played as background sound, while models walked on the runway wearing the stunning timeless latest pieces from the collection. HoYeon Jung, the “Squid Game” star and Louis Vuitton brand ambassador, opened the display, rocking a bright blue windbreaker with marigold accents and waist-defining zippers.

“The bridge is a symbol of harmony, between the natural and the urban, coexisting as one,” Hwang explained after the show. “The name of the bridge also means ‘submerge’ in Korea, so the intense weather helped express that feeling better.”
