This month is particularly buzzy for Chanel. Not only was the 2023 Met Gala theme centred around one of its most prominent creative directors, the late Karl Lagerfeld, but a few weeks later on May 9, Parisian maison, Chanel, has showcased its dazzling Cruise collection in the heart of the City of Angels with a star-studded front row to match on Tuesday evening. And while stars have descended upon far-away locations like Marseille and Monte Carlo for the luxury label’s annual extravaganza, Creative Director Virginie Viard held this year’s event in Los Angeles.
We were unsure how Virginie Viard was going to top her 2022/23 Formula 1-inspired collection that took place on the glamorous grounds of Monte Carlo. But last night she brought to life the glamour of Los Angeles combined with the label’s Parisian DNA, and presented the 2023/24 cruise show that paid homage to the City of Angels. Whether you’ve visited LA or not, the city’s sartorial agenda has long dominated the fashion world: from 1920s Great Gatsby and 80s beach-clad fitness videos complete with leg warmers, to the It-girls of 21st century Calabasas: the collection reached the audience like perhaps no other.
Sat courtside the runway were ambassadors and friends of the house including Margot Robbie joined by fellow stars including Rose Byrne, Kristen Stewart, Whitney Peak, Margaret Qualley, Riley Keough, Sofia Richie Grainge, Paris Hilton, Snoop Dogg, Kris Jenner, Chloe Sevigny, Leslie Mann, Elle Fanning, Kim Petras and Simone Ashley.

Margot Robbie
Margot Robbie attended the Chanel Cruise 2024 collection and went ‘80s casual-chic for the event, wearing a pair of high-waisted flared jeans with a black bikini top, a black triangle bralette, and gold vest and carrying a cute black quilted Chanel handbag with a top handle. As for accessories, she kept things simple: a two-toned Chanel Première watch, Coco Crush bracelet, and a Coco handle purse.
Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart attended Chanel’s resort 2024 show in Los Angeles. Effortless-cool was on the Twilight actress agenda. She wore monochrome chequered wide leg, loose fitting trousers with a matching jacket left open and a baggy white tee underneath. She accessorised the look with a chunky Chanel necklace and her short hair cropped and fluffed.
Sofia Richie
Grainger hopped on 2023’s feather train in a sophisticated plumage look.
Halsey
The singer stepped out wearing a low-cut black Chanel cardigan sweater with pink and white trim. She also rocked a matching black Chanel miniskirt with pink and white trim, while accessorising with a gold link necklace and pink and gold Chanel earrings.
Paris Hilton
Paris Hilton attended Chanel’s resort 2024 show in Los Angeles. Hilton donned an open-knit dress and matching cardigan by the French label. She paired her Barbiecore-inspired pink ensemble with a matching tweed bag, cream patent leather heels and layered pearl necklaces, all by the French Maison. Hilton’s makeup included white eyeshadow and pink glossy lips, as well as a touch of matching blush.
Riley Keough
Riley Keough attended Chanel’s resort 2024 show in Los Angeles. She wore a purple-hued long sleeved top with matching leggings, both adorned with gigantic interlocking c’s and sporadic letters.
