The 95th edition of Hollywood’s most-anticipated Awards ceremony was back! Hosted by the late-night chat show Jimmy Kimmel, the event took place at the regular venue of the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The most glamorous event in movies brought together nominees, stars, presenters, and more (Michelle Yeoh, Paul Mescal Stephanie Hsu, Brandan Fraser and, of course, the icon Rihanna) to the red carpet – which, by the way, this year changed to a “champagne” carpet. This year, for the first time since 1961, the carpet outside of the Oscars is not red.

Many of Hollywood’s biggest stars hit the carpet at the Academy Awards, channelling the themes and characters of their recent films and turning their formalwear into a glamorous extension of their movie wardrobes. Fabulous gowns, trains, high-octane ball gowns aplenty, show-stopping sequins dress galore, and plenty of black, white, and bold colours appeared to be this year’s big style trend. Best Original Song nominee Rihanna helped closed down the carpet in a black leathery look with a train that accentuated her baby bump, while Lady Gaga picked Versace from the fashion house’s recent Los Angeles show. Then, there was also an unforgettable look from Florence Pugh, who wore a stunning Valentino ensemble that included black shorts. From the statement gowns to the dazzling and dapper, let’s have a look at some of the best-dressed stars on the 2023 Oscars red carpet below.
